Flour millers in the Punjab have increased the wheat flour price of a 20 kilogramme bag by Rs 5. The ex-factory price of a 20 kilogramme bag will be Rs 290 instead of Rs 285 from Monday and for consumers will buy it for Rs 300 per bag instead of Rs 295.
Pakistan Flour Mills Association (Punjab Zone) Chairman Habib-ur-Rehman Leghari told Business Recorder that the recent increase in the petroleum products prices and electricity rates had increased the production cost of flour. He also said they were also getting a wheat quota from the government sufficient to run the mills only from three and half to four hours multiplying the problems of the millers. He said these factors had forced them to increase the price of wheat flour.
