Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal has directed police officers to leave no stone unturned for the eradication of crime and protection of life and property of the people and a comprehensive strategy should be evolved to meet the prevailing situation of terrorism.
Special pickets should be mounted at exit and entry points of the city besides maintaining a vigil on suspicious elements, he added. While presiding over a meeting of police officers to review law and order, the Capital City Police Officer said that curbing crime and promotion of sense of security among masses is his top priority and all officers should mobilise all available resources to achieve the said target.
He directed SPs to reorganise patrolling plan in their respective areas and deploy additional force in crime prone areas. He also directed effective surveillance of inns, hotels, restaurants and wagon stands besides deployment of police at 85 sensitive points in the city.
He said that Lahore police has already launched a crackdown against proclaimed offenders, court absconders and possessors of illicit arms and all the officers should further expedite the campaign and submit report to him on daily basis.
A vigorous campaign has been launched against professional beggars in provincial metropolis with effect from March 4 and all SPs should personally supervise the campaign and ensure maximum arrest of such beggars, he added.
