Pakistan Cricket Board still expected a positive response from Australian officials about their team's tour of this country, despite media reports of imminent cancellation of the trip. "We have not been (formally) intimated (of cancellation)", PCB's Media Director Mansoor Sohail said in reply to a query by a private TV channel on Thursday night. "We are waiting for a positive response from Cricket Australia (CA)", Mansoor said.
Cricket Australia is the governing body of this game down Under. To a question whether the Australians had expressed reservations about the tour of Pakistan, Mansoor said the Aussies wanted guarantees of security. "We assured them of maximum, 100 percent, security", he said.
He said the PCB had offered CA to send a security team ahead of their cricketers for assessing the arrangements at the respective venues. Meanwhile, Australian newspapers reported that the tour had virtually been cancelled.
