The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports this week rose to 23 from 22 last week, shipping agent Williams said Thursday. In a weekly report, Williams said nine vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, down from 11 last week. There were nine vessels at Maceio, up from seven a week ago.
In Recife port, there were three vessels waiting, up from two last week. Santos port accounted for 49 percent of the sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports, while Maceio port made up for 35 percent.
