Pakistan People's Party (PPP) would take effective measures to bring down the soaring prices, after coming into power, which are not within the reach of common people. This was stated by Farzana Raja, newly elected MNA, while talking to APP.
In this regard, she said, special committees would be set up to keep check on the prices for providing relief to the poor and oppressed segments of the society. Highlighting the salient features of party's manifesto, she said the manifesto of PPP lays its main focus on 5E's formula including Energy, Employment, Education, Environment and Equality as all these things are interlinked and can bring about tangible change in the destiny of nation.
She said that an important scheme as a part of manifesto, would be initiated for the youth employment according to which post-graduates would be inducted in different government departments for 2 years and sufficient compensation would be provided to them so that they could arrange for them better opportunities in their careers by gaining experience in these departments.
The girl students would also be given special stipends so that they may not be a burden on their parents and go ahead in their educational fields by overcoming the financial constraints, she said.
Commenting on the women issues, she said their representation would be enhanced in diverse fields to empower them in accordance with PPP's manifesto. She also stressed the need for inducting more women judges in the courts to ensure quick dispensation of justice in the society. However, she said, proper legislation would be initiated to resolve grievances of women and discriminatory laws in this regard would be brought to an end.
PPP would proceed from bringing a national reconciliation and strengthen the institution by amending the system, which is hurdle in the way of uplift of the common man. In this regard judiciary, executive and legislative would be strengthened to realise the cherished goals, which our party had set as targets, Farzana said.
She said that water reservoirs had not been given attention during the last 8 years and canal-lining had also been neglected by which the irrigation sector suffered a lot. "Our government would take effective measures to build water reservoirs to resolve the serious problem of irrigation sector on which depends over 70 percent population, residing in the rural areas," she said.
