The Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) has organised a diamond grading training workshop a first of its kind in the history of Pakistan. The training workshop started in Karachi on Monday which is being attended by 15 persons from gems and jewellery industry.
According to a PGJDC press release, the training is being conducted by Mansoor Usman, a graduate, from the Gemological Institute of America, California, USA. He workshop will continue for two-week. In the training workshop, the participants would learn the techniques of grading diamonds colour, clarity, and cut wise. The participants would also learn the techniques of diamond appraisement and value assessment.
Speaking on the occasion PGJDC CEO Fawwad Khan said that keeping in view the demand from the industry the Company decided to organise this two-week diamond-grading course at Karachi.
Fawwad Khan emphasised the need for adopting new trends and technology in diamond cutting, grading, appraisement and value assessment in order to promote Pakistani diamond products in international markets. He said more such training courses on diamond-grading would be organised in other cities as well in near-future.-PR
