Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) will include a nominee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in the university's Technical Committee. This was decided in a meeting of Dr Professor Syed Nazir Ahmed with President KCCI Muhammed Ahmed Shamsi, who led a 13-member delegation on a visit to the university.
It was decided that SSUET and KCCI would hold meetings every two months to further discuss the relevant issues with the objective of producing such graduates, which could match the industry's requirements. They also discussed the emerging technology world over and the requirement of different industries as a consequence thereof.
Earlier the chamber delegation was presented profile of the university. The delegation members also visited university's departments and laboratories and were impressed with the projects of bio-medical engineering department particularly the project of "infant incubator" and "Lumbar Support Cushion". The delegation members appreciated the standard of education and technical facilities available to students.
Earlier, the University's Registrar, Shah Mahmood Hussain Syed gave a presentation to the delegation about SSUET's ongoing and future projects and the establishment of Pakistan's first IT Park for which 200 acres of land has been acquired in the Education City. The presentation was also attended by vice-chancellor, Dean of faculties and chairmen and senior members of various departments.
