Special Federal Anti-Corruption Court Central II, presided by Judge Shaukat Ali Memon, on Thursday adjourned the hearing of Artefacts Smuggling case, which is commonly known as container case against Asif Ali Zardari, till May 24.
Shahadat Awan advocate, counsel for accused Asif Ali Zardari prayed to the court to condone his absence as the accused was busy in Islamabad for formation of a coalition government with PPPP of whom accused is co-chairman.
The case pertains to alleged smuggling of eight heavy wooden boxes sent to Surrey Palace allegedly owned by the former ruling couple containing artefacts, including centuries old swords, gems and other precious items of decoration.
