Senior leader of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Senator Safdar Abbasi on Thursday termed Khawaja Asif's statement against Amin Fahim as inappropriate and said the latter had been meeting government officials after permission of martyred Benazir Bhutto.
"Amin Fahim held all meetings after permission of BB, even if he did meet anyone without seeking prior permission, he used to take Mohtarma into confidence after that," Safdar Abbasi said in a news conference here.
He also dismissed the allegations that Amin Fahim met any government personality at the night of December 27, the day of assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and said Mr Fahim was with other party colleagues that night.
"He was with us in the car, in hospital and then accompanied us to Garhi Khuda Bux with the body of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto," Abbasi said in a single sigh. He said the national reconciliation order (NRO) with the government was signed by PPP but all political parties had benefited from it.
Speaking on the occasion, Benazir Bhutto's former political secretary Naheed Khan said that they would remain loyal to the party and its manifesto forever. She also brushed aside the reports of rift within the party and said all leaders were united on one platform.
