Gold price on Saturday surged to Rs 18,985 per 10 grams from Rs 18,770 per 10 grams in the local market due to increase in the world market which reached $920 an ounce, traders said. As a result, gold is now available at Rs 22,100 per tola, which earlier was being sold at Rs 21,900 on Thursday.
Market resumed trading today after remaining closed for one day on account of Eid-Milad-un-Nabi holiday. Gold trading could not take place also in the international market for a Good Friday holiday and will remain closed for another two days, Saturday and Sunday, two weekly holidays. The clear picture could be seen on Monday, they added.
