Tiger Woods will need to match the best final-round comeback of his career if the world golf number one is to extend his win streak to eight tournaments in a row.
Australian Geoff Ogilvy stretched his lead to four strokes after 54 holes Sunday morning at the World Golf Championships CA Championship, completing a four-under 68 that left three-time defending champion Woods five adrift. A total of 61 players had to finish their third round Sunday after lightning halted play Saturday, setting the stage for a long day for leaders as they race the sunset to decide a winner at the eight million-dollar event.
Ogilvy, yet to make a bogey this week, stood on 16-under par 200 after 54 holes with Fiji's Vijay Singh, Britain's Graeme Storm, Australian Adam Scott, South African Retief Goosen and American Jim Furyk all on 204. Woods, whose best last-18 rally for a victory was a five-stroke comeback in 2000 at Pebble Beach, and Denmark's Anders Hansen shared seventh on 205. Woods made par on all seven holes Sunday morning to complete a par-72 round, the worst third-round total of any player among the top 30 at the 79-man event.
