The three-day second International Maritime Conference (IMC) being organised by National Centre for Maritime Policy Research, Bahria University, will start from today (Tuesday). According to a press release issued on Monday the moot will be attended by eminent national and international scholars on maritime affairs.
In tandem with United Nations millennium development goals, the conference would address issues, which directly impact areas of economy, environment, security, education and technology, within the sphere of maritime affairs.
The aim of the conference is to address areas requiring focus and suggest policy, which would enable Pakistan to develop a dynamic and comprehensive revised maritime policy for sustainable development of its maritime potential.
At least nineteen speakers and delegates from nine countries including Pakistan, Canada, India, United Kingdom, Thailand, Germany, Australia, United States of America and Iran would present research papers during the moot.-PR
