Secretary General, Revenue Division/ Federal Board of Revenue Chairman M Abdullah Yusuf said on Tuesday that the security of official buildings and record was a very critical issue, which needs to be addressed through effective use of modern security technology.
He was addressing the concluding session of one-day workshop on security systems held under the auspices of Administration Wing of FBR here. All chief security officers of FBR's field formations attended the session.
The chairman said that the Board's decision to improve the security was mainly due to the prevailing law and order situation, which demands foolproof security arrangements for the FBR House, Islamabad and its units in the field.
FBR chairman said that all the security personnel need to be vigilant and properly trained. They must ensure that the visitor was going to only that office/floor where he/she was authorised to go.
He advised the participants to act in a professional manner, so that the taxpayers feel secure and comfortable while visiting Board's reformed units. "We need to create and maintain high security standards," he added.
Earlier, Member (Admn) Major General Muhammad Yasin (Retd) advised the security officers to ensure that all necessary equipment like walk-through gates, scanners, barriers etc be made available at all their offices.
