Senate Committee on Education and its chairperson, Senator Razina Alam Khan visited the Heavy Industries Taxila Education City (HITEC) on Tuesday and commended the pattern of this educational institution.
Razina commented it was a model institution to back the quest for providing quality education in the country, and more educational institutions of the same type and model should be established in all the four provinces, for the benefit of students of meager income groups.
HITEC, Chairman, Lieutenant General Israr Ahmed Ghumman said the HITEC is being run on self-help basis as a 'one step' education facility providing schooling at all levels, including school, college education, and vocational training and university education, and had a number of centres of excellence.
Senator Razina appreciated the spirit of social service in HITEC and assured the Chairman of Standing Committee's cooperation. The Senate Committee delegation included Senators Tahira Latif, Liaqat Ali Bangulzai, Sajid Mir and Dr Muhammad Said.
