Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, who won the historic unanimous vote of confidence in the National Assembly, is fully capable of steering the country out of the present crisis. Anjuman Tajiran Chishtian Secretary General Muhammad Yasin Zafar said while talking to newsmen on Tuesday.
He said that all trade circles were hopeful that the new coalition government would address the problems facing the nation effectively, as it had promised to address the vital issues of price hike, power load shedding and poverty within the first 100 days of its rule.
The trade leader felicitated the new Prime Minister who belonged to the backward area of south Punjab, adding that it was hoped he would work for the uplift of the region and not forget the downtrodden people of this area.
"National institutions have been weakened in the last few years under the so-called doctrine of necessity, and this poses a big challenge for the new government to rectify those wrongs," he added. He expressed hope that the new ministers would also live up to public expectations and handle their portfolios with diligence and honesty.
