The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment has brought a case against the treasurer and the head clerk of the Government College University (GCU) in Faisalabad after being found guilty of misusing the college funds.
Treasurer Qazi Khalil-ur-Rehman and head clerk Shabbir Shah were reported to have misused Rs 137.2 million following a complaint by former vice chancellor Dr Asif Iqbal.
An inquiry committee probed the case and found that the two employees had illegally withdrawn Rs 137.2 million from the university funds. A four-man inquiry team is now started investigation. The anti-corruption agency has confiscated all relevant records of the National Bank of Pakistan at the Jinnah Colony branch in Faisalabad.
