Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Khawaja Muhammad Asif Tuesday said that US Administration appears to be ready to consider the option of mixing administrative and political approach in their war on terror in the region.
Talking to a private television channel the Minister said that high level US officials, who visited Pakistan in recent past were clearly told that new leadership in the country would not want its soil to become the killing ground for its own people in anti-terror war.
He said the visitors were told in soft tone that the war on terror be handled in a fashion that should be acceptable to the people of Pakistan because they have suffered a lot during the past few years.
He said that people of Pakistan attach high hopes with the new democratic government and normalisation of law and order is a top most need in given conditions. He appreciated the steps of Chief of Army Staff with regard to depoliticising the institution of Army saying it will help add the respect of country's defenders among the masses.
