Political and student leaders in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have commended the decision of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to restore student and trade unions. People's Students Federation Kotli district President Syed Faisal Shah said Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto shaheed gave rights to students and labour classes but dictators banned unions.
National Student Federation Chief Organiser Zahoor Ahmad Malik also lauded the decision of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government. Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Zahid-ul-Hasan Chaudhry also appreciated the maiden speech of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in the Parliament.
He said Islami Jamiat Tulba (IJT) always endeavoured for the restoration of student unions. Syed Abrar Shah of Anjuman Tulba-e-Islam (ATI) also welcomed the PPP government decision regarding the restoration of student unions.
Jammu Kashmir Students Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Dr Sayed Tariq Gilani said student unions always created national leaders like Liaquat Baloch, Jehangir Badr, Javed Hashmi and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
PPP Leaders Naseer Rathore, Matloob Inqalabi, Sardar Aftab Anjum, Syed Muzhar Kazmi, Syed Rahat Abbas, MLA, Shazia Akbar and others also lauded the speech of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani. After the speech of the Prime Minister student organisations took out processions in various cities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
