The intermittent drizzle that started on Thursday evening turned the city weather pleasant on Friday. Local Met Office told newsmen that 2.8-millimetre rain had been recorded during Thursday night and Friday morning.
The temperature had risen to 34 degree centigrade due to the early advent of summer in Multan, which is notorious for its hot weather. The nightlong drizzle with a cool wind made some people take out and wear light sweaters and shawls, to relive some moments of cold weather.
However, rain has never been a pleasant experience for road-users in the city because roads and streets are filled with water, adding filthy slush to the already dirty and dusty settlements.
The ageing sewage system is another problem, which the city fathers have been unable to repair or replace despite rosy promises and pledges. The Multanies are now looking towards the new government to resolve its age-old civic problems.
