The United Insurance Company (UIC) and Safia Mustafa Trust (SMT) have jointly launched an Educational Security Scheme (ESS) for students to provide them insurance cover to safeguard their educational career.
The SMT and UIC signed an agreement on Friday. SMT official and Principal Rawalpindi Islamic School of Excellence (RISE), Shujaat signed the agreement on behalf of SMT while Director General UIC, Aamir Mehmood signed on behalf of his organisation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mehmood said the scheme would cover every student on very competitive and easy terms. It will help secure the educational career of the children who could not afford educational expenses for one or the other reason, he added.
Shujaat in her address said that SMT has tried to make sure that a child is not left behind simply for want of money. Every student is covered under the scheme until matriculation against a nominal charge, she said. "Now children can continue their education without any financial constraints," she added.
