Police have arrested 87 members of 19 different criminal gangs and recovered valuables and snatched vehicles from their possession. Giving details of possessions DIG operation report revealed that one tractor, four motorcycles, 46 cattle heads, 27 mobile phones, cash, ornaments, yarn and cloth valuing worth of Rs 10.603 million were recovered from outlaws.
The district police also registered 687 cases of illegal weapons by recovering six Kalashnikovs, 24 rifles, 108 guns, 428 pistols/mousers, 78 revolvers, 26 carbines and 1,994 bullets.
Similarly, 278 cases of narcotics were also registered recovering 36.396 kilogram charas, 0.662 kilogram heroin and 883 bottles of liquor. He said in a campaign against cattle lifters, 20 accused were arrested while 53 cattle heads valuing at Rs 1.787 million were recovered and in this connection, 84 cases were registered. Faisalabad police also arrested 334 proclaimed offenders and 233 court absconders, report added.
