The mass contact drive has been launched here from Sunday in order to take out a strong protest really on April 09, against obstacles in Master Plan, decrease in reconstruction fund from Rs 19 billion to Rs 17 billion and problems of traders.
The rally would be taken out under the auspices of Awami Ittehad and in this regard, Shaukat Javed Mir, Syed Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, Asif Mustafai, Sardar Tasleem Khan, Khalid Mehmood Zaidi, Khawaja Sajjad and others launched the masses contact drive and held meetings with political leaders, students, traders and others. They invited them to participate in the rally on April 09 for fulfilment of their demands. People belonging to different walks of life assured their complete cooperation, in this respect.
Later, speaking at news conference, office bearers of Awami Ittehad said that they will take out a protest rally on April 09 against hurdles in implementation of Master Plan and also for fulfilling of their other demands.
They said that a protest movement would be launched from the platform of Awami Ittehad. They alleged misappropriation in the aid for reconstruction and quake victims. They further said that self-employment package was given to blue-eyed of the government.
They said a 25-point charter of demand was presented to government but it took no notice of it. He added that 0.8 million Kashmiris were ready to render life sacrifices. He urged Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, Minister Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira and leader of political parties to take notice of delay in reconstruction process and irregularities of the government.
