Hundreds of citizens of Sharah-I-Rashid, Chowk Doub Phatak Wilayatabad and Timber Market on Sunday staged a demonstration and blocked the road as a protest against suspension of power supply for the last four days. The demonstrators mostly women and children shouted slogans against the Mepco authorities for their negligence.
The demo was led by Union Council Nazim Sajid Suhail and PML-N leader Shaikh Muhammad Younas. When contacted the Mepco authorities they said that they could not replace the faulty transformer due to incessant rain.
