Cocoa arrivals at ports in world top grower Ivory Coast reached 1,057,309 tonnes from October 1 to April 6, exporters estimated on Monday, compared with 912,828 tonnes in the same period of the previous season.
Exporters estimated around 7,500 tonnes of beans were delivered to the West African state's two ports between April 1-6, down from 7,971 tonnes in the same week a year ago.
That compared with 8,037 tonnes of beans arriving at Abidjan and San Pedro ports in the previous week. "It's not surprising. It's to be expected that weekly arrivals are at this level because there isn't very much left in the bush," said the director of a European exporter in Abidjan. "The level will continue to drop until we receive the first beans of the (April-September) mid crop," he said.
