The Pakistan Taxation Club, Karachi organised a gathering on April 5, 2008 to bid farewell to the former director general Large Taxpayers' Unit, Karachi, Mukhtar Ahmed Gondal upon his retirement. Siraj Saleem Shamsuddin, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister and a distinguished member of the income tax community presided over the ceremony.
Siraj Saleem, in his address termed his presence at the gathering as a re-entry into service. He paid tributes to Gondal and his services towards the tax reforms in the country. The Member (Direct Taxes) Federal Board of Revenue, Usman Khalid Mirza shared his thoughts about his retiring batch mate.
Asrar Rauf, Director General RTO, Karachi also paid tribute to his superannuating senior and lauded his contributions to the Income Tax Department. The event was well attended by both the retired and in-service officers of Income Tax and Customs service.-PR
