As many as 1.29 million children were vaccinated in the district of Jhang during the anti-measles campaign, said Health Executive District Officer (EDO), Dr Muhammad Ashraf Javed.
Talking to newsmen, he said that the vaccination target was fixed at 1.26 million but over 1.29 million children up to the age of 13 years were immunised against the disease during the campaign in all four tehsils of Jhang.
Furthermore, he said that the anti-measles vaccine has no side effects and not even a single child was reported to be effected after vaccination. He said that Punjab government paid full attention to the drive and it was personally monitored by the chief secretary and Health secretary.
The director general of Health Services had conducted surprise visits to verify the departmental reports, he added. The EDO further said that DHO, DDHOs, MSs and all field staff discharge their duties with devotion and spirit to make the drive a success.
