The passage from main road to Post Office-75290 located amid dense residential area behind deep streets in Gulistan-e-Jouhar Block-14, Karachi, is blocked by private barriers of residential bungalows from all directions except only one restricted option with lengthy curves for its entry/exit.
Neither any office nor shop exists in the surroundings of this unique location of post office. The residents of the area for security of their life and property have fixed check barriers with deployment of security guards, who allow access to only residents of the streets from either direction, restricting approach of general public for all postal needs.
The most in-suitable location for a post office with restrictions of access, it is not only inconvenient for postal customers but also forcing them to travel to other far located post offices to fulfil their postal needs after suffering un-called for losses of time, money and physical drill.
These postal problems pertain, not to an individual but in general to over 2 million residents of the area, which over the years have been severally communicated to concerned DS, DPMG KPR-II, PMG-Sindh and DG Pakistan Post without any solution so far. The status-quo of the issue is due to the negative attitude, lack of interest, inattention and shifting responsibility between PMG-Sindh circle and head quarters of Director General Pakistan post, Islamabad.
The only way-out of postal facilitation's to 2 million residents of the area, is to shift the post office from its existing place to suitable commercial location within Gulistan-e-Jouhar for easy vision and convenient reach of general public besides best revenue earning of Pakistan Post. Ministry of Communications is requested to take serious notice of this public problem pending un-resolved over the years.
