Primary education: NWFP government working on broad-based strategy, says Hoti
Chief Minister NWFP, Amir Haider Khan Hoti said on Sunday that NWFP government was working on broad based strategy for the uplift of primary education in the province.
Speaking at parents' day function of a school in Mardan district, the Chief Minister said that his government would take every possible measure for the uplift of primary education to provide equal opportunities to poor children at their doorsteps.
The Chief Minister said that scholarship program for poor children is also being chalked out so that deserving children can study in the top schools and colleges of the province and country.
He said introducing goal's oriented reforms in education sectors is the top priority of his government adding that education is key to success. The Chief Minister said that Pakhtuns are liberal, democratic and forward-looking people and they have no concern with terrorism or suicide bombings.
He regretted that in the past no one tried to explore the peaceful paths to get rid of the militancy and extremism. He said that coalition government was determined to exhaust all the peaceful options through negations and Jirgas, which are the traditions of the Pukhtoons and this province.
He said that ANP believes in philosophy of non violence and therefore are committed to give pen in hands of children instead of suicide jackets. He said that NWFP is facing numerous problems and challenges and bolds steps need to be taken to take the province out of the current situation.
He said that war of others have been imposed on Pakhtuns, saying that all problems would be solved through peace Jirga and dialogue.
