MQM-P demands adequate development funds for Hyderabad in budget 2017-18
HYDERABAD: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Paksitan has requested the Sindh Government to include recommendations and development schemes proposed by MQM-P's members of Sindh Assembly in the upcoming budget for fiscal year 2017-18.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, the MQM-P's MPAs elected from Hyderabad including Rashid Khilji, Sabir Hussain Qaimkani, Dilawar Qureshi and Zubair Ahmed Khan while making the demand decried that the urban areas of Sindh particularly Hyderabad had been ignored in the past provincial budgets.
They said the elected representatives of other districts were given special development funds by the Chief Minister Sindh in the previous budgets but Hyderabad was kept deprived.
The MPAs said the provincial government had undermined Hyderabad's importance in terms of its industrial growth, trade and commerce and employment generation as adequate development had not been carried out.
They asked the CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah to end the past deprivations and apprehensions of Hyderabad and its elected representatives by allocating commensurate development budget for the city in fiscal 2017-18.
