Inspector General of Police Sindh Shoaib Suddle on Wednesday said that the confidence of people over law enforcement agencies would be restored soon and the people would judge the performance of police. Talking to BBC Radio he said his top priority would be to register complaints of masses against the police as it would improve the police performance.
Replying to a question about MQM reservations against him he said action was taken in 1995 and 1996 but it was not taken against MQM and was against those elements that were disturbing law and order situation in Karachi. "We do not care of parties' affiliation during operation against criminals", he added. Suddle said: "I am straightforward police officer. I am not a political person and do not have links with any political party and would try to end the police involvement in politics."
