Gold prices on Thursday rose by Rs 250 to Rs 22,800 per tola in the local market. Prices of the yellow metal in world market went up by $15 an ounce in a single day trading, reaching $950 from $935 an ounce. Upward trend in the world market is believed to be the chief factor pushing gold prices up in the local market.
Gold is now being traded at Rs 19,542 per 10 grams, rising by Rs 214, traders said. All Pakistan Supreme Council of Jewellers Association President Haroon Rashid Chand informed Business Recorder that the local gold market marked low business following fresh increase in the precious metal.
