A comprehensive plan is being evolved to prevent crime rate in Sindh, which would greatly help in restoring masses' confidence in police and improving overall law and order situation in the province, said Inspector General Police Sindh Dr Shoaib Suddle Thursday.
At present there is problem of street crimes and incidents of bank robberies in urban areas, while in interior Sindh kidnapping for ransom and highway robberies are common issues, he told state run television. Accordingly, he said "a comprehensive plan is being evolved." Shoaib Suddle said Sindh police was facing quantitative and qualitative inadequacy in its resources to effectively combat anti-social elements and improve performance of the force.
However, he said despite the deficiency in resources, the police force would be made enough capable of deliver well and providing quality service to the public. Besides, he stressed the need for making it people-friendly force with whom masses could comfortably exchange their views on different incidents without any fear.
Such step would greatly help in gathering credible intelligence information, which sometimes proves very useful in resolving a complicated case, he added. IGP Sindh vowed to perform his duties without coming into influence of any political personality and "efforts will be made to provide neutral policing in the area without any fear and favour." Sindh police force would be de-politicised and steps would be taken to boost its morale, he added.
