European aircraft maker Airbus and its parent EADS are sticking to their plans to sell Airbus sites in Nordenham and Varel and an EADS site in Augsburg. "The goal to sell the factories has not changed," an Airbus spokeswoman said on Saturday.
German magazine Wirtschaftswoche had reported that EADS and Airbus plan to keep the three sites within the company, adding that a site in Laupheim and manufacturing facilities in France and England will be sold in the next few weeks. EADS had said in March that it had terminated talks about the sale of sites in Nordenham, Varel and Augsburg with the OHB/MT Aerospace consortium. It said the strong euro complicated its divestment process.
