Friends Union President of the Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Aziz Ahmad has demanded that Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif should take steps to stop the merger of the Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank with the Bank of Punjab to save the small farmers and employees from exploitation.
These demands came from him during a press conference along with the office-bearers of the union on Monday. He said the bank was in profit and enjoys goodwill in the market because of its assets, reserve funds and valuable properties so there is a no need of the merger of the bank.
He also said that bank was playing an important role in the agriculture progress of the country. He also said that as a result of this merger two thousand employees would be affected. He also demanded that the State Bank should restore the funds on the basis of National Service Charge so that the bank should continue giving loans to the small farmers and help the poor.
