Groundbreaking ceremonies of two commercial tower projects were held at the Defence Housing Authority here on Monday. Both the ceremonies, held at Sector-U and Sector-DD, DHA, were attended by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Shafaat Ullah Shah who was chief guest of the occasion.
The events, organised by J&S, featured an extensive video presentation by the Giga Group Chairman, Haji Mohammed Rafiq Giga and the Administrator DHA, Brigadier Mohammed Aslam. Business elite of Lahore, prominent real estate developers and key personnel from the armed services also attended the ceremonies.
Media Co-ordinator, J&S, Tajdar Chaudhry told reporters that Giga Group and the DHA Lahore under a joint venture 'Mazyood Giga DHA Lahore' launched the two projects under the Goldcrest banner, a renowned brand in the UAE and Pakistan.
He said both the projects were destined to be commercial landmarks not only in the DHA area but also in the larger urban landscape of Lahore. "Boasting multiple stories of sheer architectural excellence, these towers will be constructed in atrium style facilitating magnificent vistas both inwards and outwards," he added.
He said: "Equipped with capsule lifts, CCTV security networks, central air-conditioning, backup power generators and state of the art communications, Commercial Tower at Sector U has 9 floors (offices and shops inclusive) housing an extensive food court offering a variety of fast foods and delectable cuisine and children's play area."
Commercial Tower at Sector DD has colossal heights comprising of 14 floors and 4 basements (shops and offices inclusive) and includes a supermarket, children's play area, bowling alley and cinema amongst numerous other sources of wholesome family fun and entertainment. Its four basements also facilitate parking space for over 950 cars for its office staff, shop owners and visitors, he said.
