The elections for a new Board of Directors of Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF) were held at the Annual General body Meeting (AGM) in Karachi. Abdul Kader Jaffer was elected President, M. Domichi Senior Vice President, Majyd Aziz and Yoshio Hiro Vice Presidents, S. Jameel Hussain Secretary General, Asif Ali Rashid Treasurer, and Mati un Zia and Singo Sato Joint Secretaries.
While Sohail Ahmed, Kalim Farooqi, Muhammad Owais, Syed Feroz Shah, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, S. Asakuma, Seichiro Suzuki, Kenichi Ayukawa, Yoshiki Yamashiro, Kosuke Miimi, Hideya Iijima, and O. Ishikawa were elected Directors for a period of three years.
The AGM also unanimously approved the new Memorandum and Articles of Association and congratulated the Board for getting the Forum certified by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). The PJBF is the first and only bilateral Forum to be certified by SECP in Pakistan.
The AGM also lauded the honorary services of Abdul R. Sattar of Sattar and Sattar, the legal counsel of PJBF, for his personal efforts in spearheading the process of certification. Abdul Kader Jaffer gave a detailed presentation on the activities of the PJBF during the past year and apprised the members about the many actions and projects undertaken by this premier Forum.-PR
