Police nabbed 1,226 outlaws in a massive crackdown on proclaimed offenders, court absconders and during these crackdowns police also seized 47 rifles and guns, 916 pistols and revolvers and looted property worth rupees 4.3 million from them.
Capital City Police, Lahore, launched a vigorous campaign against criminals on the directions of Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Malik Muhammad Iqbal from April 5 to 13, 2008 under the supervision of DIG Investigation Tassaduq Hussain.
A number of teams comprising all the SPs were constituted for this purpose which raided the hideouts of the criminals and arrested 1, 226 felons including 394 proclaimed offenders, 407court absconders and 422 wanted offenders.
Around 46 cases were also traced from the arrested criminals during interrogation. The police also arrested 17 members of six criminal gangs and recovered gold, seven snatched cars, nine motorbikes, 10 mobile phones and more than six kgs of cannabis.
