Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Secretary General Ahmed Yar Khan, Director Marketing Sardar Naveed Haider have rued the death of former striker Tariq Niazi. Tariq was a gold medalist in the 1968 Mexico Olympics and won silver in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He also earned gold medal in the 1962.
During international career from 1961-68, he scored 50 goals in 76 matches with two hat tricks. PRSB's Vice President Muhammad Irfan Gohar and former hockey Olympian Khawaja Muhammad Aslam, Khawaja Junaid, Khawaja Bilal, Khawaja Owais, Khawaja Shahid expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the sad demise of international hockey forward Tariq Niazi.
