Nine of a family shot dead while asleep

Some armed men shot dead nine members of a family in Qaimpur (Hasilpur), of Bahawalpur district, on Saturday. A Police officer, Pervez Iqbal Bajwah, said, "Some proclaimed offenders gunned down eight member of a family in village Kalia Shah at 1.30 am to take revenge of old enmity."
He said that the family of Soofi Muhammad Ibrahim shifted to Qaimpur from village Tail-Chiragh (Mailsi) and got a piece of land on rent for cultivation. On Friday night, when the entire family was asleep, some armed men entered their house an shot them dead. However, an infant baby miraculously escaped unhurt. Those who were killed included Soofi Muhammad Ibrahim, his wife, their son Muhammad Farooq and Farooq's wife and four children.
