The legal fraternity on Saturday continued token boycott of courts proceedings and staged hunger strike camps against the removal of judges and to press the government of restoring all the 'deposed' judges.
Following the call of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association, the lawyers did not appear before courts after 11am and remained at hunger strike camps. Black flags were also hoisted at bar premises.
Protesters also chanted slogans against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), accusing it for Karachi catastrophe on April 9. They demanded a judicial inquiry of Karachi incident and strict action against the responsible. The lawyers were of the view that they would not accept any constitutional package against the restoration or independence of the judiciary.
