Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday categorically stated that all the deposed judges including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will be restored soon.
"I want to tell you that Insha Allah Chief Justice will also be restored, judiciary will be restored and would be made independent", the Prime Minister said while addressing a large public gathering here at the inauguration ceremony of NUML College.
Minister for Education, Ahsan Iqbal, Chief of Tehrik-e-Insaf and Chairman of the Trust for college, Imran Khan and Miss Alison from the Bradford University also addressed the ceremony.
The Prime Minister said despite the split mandate in the recent elections, the democratic forces joined hands for taking the country forward on the path of progress and prosperity, to strengthen democracy and to ensure the supremacy of parliament.
He termed the coalition of PPP, PML-N, ANP, JUI and the independents as "unity in diversity" and said it was a historic day when he as Prime Minister got a unanimous vote of confidence in the parliament.
The Prime Minister said the present coalition government will come up to the expectations of masses. "We have not come in the government to rule.
We have come after making sacrifices. We have lost Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto." He said the government has already fulfilled its promise made to media by eliminating the draconian laws from the Pemra Ordinance as well as restoring the trade and student unions throughout the country.
The Prime Minister said the government was focusing on education, "as we do not want our youth to become terrorists but want them to get education and provide an educated future leadership to country." He also announced a grant of Rs 30 million for the construction of hostel facilities at the NUMUL College.
