Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani condemned an attack on a military parade attended by Afghan President Hamid Karzai that killed three people, including an MP, officials said on Sunday.
Gilani assured Afghanistan of his support to defeat the 'common enemy' and overcome 'terrorism and extremism'. "I strongly condemn the attack on the ceremony commemorating the 16th anniversary of the victory of Mujahedeen in Afghanistan," said Gilani said in a statement. "We are greatly relieved and grateful to Allah Almighty that no harm has come to His Excellency Hamid Karzai," he said.
"In this hour we stand by our Afghan brothers and sisters and fully share their resolve to defeat the common enemy and overcome the challenge of terrorism and extremism," the prime minister added.
