The Punjab government has appointed Punjab Chief Secretary Javed Mahmood as the chairman of Bank of Punjab (BoP) and its new board of directors. A BoP spokesman said those named directors were Punjab Chief Secretary Javed Mahmood, Punjab Finance Secretary Sohail Ahmad, Alman Aslam, Aneeq Khawar, Shafqat Elahi, Shafqat Mahmood.
They have replaced former Punjab Secretary Salman Siddique, Bashir Jan Mohammad, Mian Muhammad Latif, Gohar Ejaz, and Salman Aslam Butt. Sources said the new set-up would hold its maiden meeting on April 29 to choose a new president. "There are two names floating for the post, Asif Jamshed Shah and Sheikh Bilal," the sources added.
