Pakistan Muslim League-N Finance Secretary Muhammad Pervaiz Malik has said peace, employment and justice are the basic rights of every Pakistani which can be ensured only by an independent judiciary. In his speech in a reception held in his honour on Monday, Malik said,"the crisis in the country will multiply and get deepened if supremacy of constitution and rule of law is not ensured."
He said people should raise voice for independence of judiciary if they want to ensure justice in the country. He said countries make progress on the basis of their strong institutions adding, "Societies where there is no justice do not exist for long."
He said those who had put curbs on liberties of people and independence of judiciary would have to account for it. He said independence of judiciary and reinstatement of judges was essential to get rid of remnants of dictatorship. Malik said there was a great responsibility on the shoulders of political leadership to ensure peace in the country and said this objective can be achieved if there are good and harmonious relations between democratic forces.
