Federal Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that political leadership and nation are with deposed judges and all hurdles in reinstatement of judges and independence of judiciary would be removed. Speaking at a function here on Tuesday, Rana said.
"The movement for independence of judiciary has changed the course of national history". He said that every Pakistani want to see independent judiciary and strong democracy in the country. He said struggle for reinstatement of deposed judges have become a countrywide movement and cannot be stopped by using force. He said reinstatement of judges would strengthen democracy and newly elected government as well.
Rana Tanveer said agreements between political forces and promises made with the nation must be fulfilled, adding, "judges would be restored as per Murree Declaration." He said Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto also wanted reinstatement of judges and there was consensus between Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif on independence of judiciary, scraping of 58(2B) and a number of other national issues.
'If Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto were alive today she would not spare any efforts for reinstatement of judges', he said, adding Pakistan cannot afford dissension among democratic forces at this critical juncture. He said if conspiracies for breaking ruling coalition succeeded, it would be national tragedy. He said PML-N's stance regarding restoration of judges is very clear and "We are ready to offer any sacrifice for national interests."
