President Pervez Musharraf has conferred on a prominent children's doctor of Russia Professor Leonid Mikhaelovich Roshal, the country's Civil Award of "Tamgha-e-Quaid Azam" in recognition of his exceptional services in providing medical care and assistance to the earthquake victims in Pakistan in October, 2005.
The award was given at a special investiture ceremony in Moscow by Charge d'Affaires of Pakistan in Russia Syed Sail Abbas on behalf of the President.A large number of Russian doctors, scholars, educationists, journalists and foreign diplomats attended the ceremony, says a message received here on Wednesday.
On this occasion, the Charge d' Affaires appreciated the tremendous services and contribution of Dr Roshal and his team to save the lives of earthquake victims in Pakistan. Dr Roshal expressed gratitude to the President of Pakistan for his generosity of giving him this honour by awarding"Tamgha-e-Quaid-e-Azam".
Professor Leonid Mikhaelovich Roshal a graduate from Moscow Medical Institute is currently Executive Director and Chief of the Clinical and Research Institute Emergency Children's Surgery and Trauma of the Moscow Health Department Russia.
