Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Company (PGJDC), in collaboration with the USAID-funded Pakistan Initiative for Strategic Development and Competitiveness (PISDAC), has arranged a six-day training programme on advanced pattern-making techniques for gems and jewellery sector at Common Facility Training & Manufacturing Centres (CFTMC) Lahore.
CEO PGJDC, Fawad H Khan revealed this here on Wednesday. Moreover, he said that the training is being conducted by Werner K Assmann, an internationally renowned jewellery manufacturing expert from Germany. He said This training course is being attended by more than eight trainees from the industry, adding that the course will also be replicated in Karachi next week.
He added that PGJDC is committed to creating sound base for the Gems and Jewellery sector of Pakistan by conducting different training courses to create awareness about latest gems and jewellery trends and technology being used by the international markets.
He added, "we have been inviting foreign experts from around the world to conduct training and we are also establishing training centres for the workers of gems and jewellery sector. This would surely result in increase of exports from Pakistan.
He informed that PGJDC is establishing Common Facility Training & Manufacturing Centers (CFTMCs) that would enable the industry to get their staff trained on latest machines as well as use these facilities for the production of their orders.-PR
