A Health Policy Task Force (HPTF) has been constituted to prepare a National Health Policy (NHP) and review the implementation and outcome of the 2001 Policy, Federal Minister for Health, Sherry Rehman has constituted a Health Policy Task Force (HPTF).
THE COMPOSITION OF THIS TASK FORCE IS AS FOLLOWS: Minister for Health will be the Chairperson,; Ministry of Health will be the Vice Chairperson, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, MNA, Dr Shahnaz Wazir Ali, MNA, Dr Ahmed Ali Shah, MNA, Dr Sadiqua Jafarey, President, National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health, Karachi.

Khan, Chief, National Health Policy Unit, Ministry of Health, Islamabad Secretary. Any other public health specialist may be included on the basis invitation. The terms of reference to the HPTF will be as, situation analysis of the existing public health system in the country, analytical review of the existing health strategies/programs.
Preparation a draft National Health Policy with focus on proposing a 'National Health System', Medical education, Health research in Pakistan, Healthcare financing, Regulating the health sector, National Drugs Policy, Monitoring and evaluation of the health policy/action plans/strategies and prepare short and medium-term action plans. National Health Policy Unit, Ministry of Health, Islamabad will function as its Secretariat. The Task Force will present its preliminary report by May 10.
