Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Reconciliation Committee on Balochistan on Sunday formed two sub-committees aimed at tracing and recovering missing people of the province and rehabilitating internally displaced people (IDP) of Dera Bugti and Kohlu districts to their ancestral villages.
The decision and formation of the sub-committees finalised at a seminar on Balochistan's problems and their solutions organised by the Reconciliation Committee on Balochistan here at the Quetta Press Club. Speakers including political leaders and journalists welcomed the formation of the reconciliation committee on Balochistan.
Addressing the seminar chairman of the reconciliation committee, central leader PPP Senator Babar Awan disclosed the names of members of the sub-committees which have been established for tracing and recovering of the missing people and rehabilitating the banished people of Dera Bugti and Kohlu districts.
They included provincial president PPP Haji Lashkari Raisani, Sardar Nazeer Ahmed Jogezai, Abdul Samad Ghazani, Faizullah Joyo, Abdul Rahim Zafar, Sardar Umar Gorgej, Mumtaz Ahmed advocate, Sardar Tahir Ahmed Khan and Qazi Nazeer.
He expressed the hope that the reconciliation process will be fruitful despite being complicated, and terming it a possible process.
He assured that his party was determined to struggle in Islamabad for ending poverty, backwardness and sense of despondency from the people of the province.
He further assured the people of Balochistan that his party will not ask granting of the rights, but it will restore the rights of the province.
Senator Babar Awan said, "the establishment had played its game, but it will not be allowed to play anymore. The country was disintegrated due to the political game of the establishment. Now, the establishment is again hatching conspiracy which will not be allowed to succeed."
He said that problems could not be resolved by resorting to military action as it aggravates the situation instead of resolving the problems. These actions have been experienced bitterly in Fata and Balochistan.
He strictly dispelled the impression that Baloch are separatists and said Baloch are patriots, but they struggle for getting rid of poverty, deprivation and backwardness from the province.
Babar Awan appealed to intellectuals and writers to lend hand to the government for taking concrete steps which are needed for resolving problems of the province. The federal government will redress the past excesses which had been done to Balochistan, he added.
President provincial chapter of PPP Haji Lashkari Raisani, journalists Majeed Asghar, Siddiq Baloch, Anwar Sajidi, Shehzada Zulfiqar, Saleem Shahid, Ayub Tareen and others also spoke on the occasion.
They welcomed the formation of the reconciliation committee on Balochistan and expressed the hope that the committee will function sincerely and it will not be like the committees which had been formed in the past.
