Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sherry Rehman Sunday expressed heartfelt condolence on the sad demise of renowned columnist of The Daily Express Iqbal Rind, who passed away in Karachi.
The minister called the death of the journalist an irreparable loss of the media fraternity and prayed that may Allah Almighty give the courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
Iqbal rendered outstanding contribution to his profession by writing columns on different national and other important issues and always stood for the freedom of press. He also remained behind the bar during the martial-law regime of General Zia-ul-Haq for promoting the cause of his profession. Iqbal Rind who was 52, left behind two sons, four daughters and a widow to mourn his death.
